Have you stopped by Eureka to see the new summer drink menu? I went this week and I have to say, I was not disappointed. My research included:
Before It Was Cool (Tequila, Fernet, Lime, Ginger, and Red Wine)
Tan Lines (Vodka, Chareau Aloe, Lemon Mint, Watermelon, and Sparkling Wine)
6th Street Swizzle (Rum, Gin, Lime, Grapefruit, Ginger, and Orgeat)
Young & In Love (Vodka, Elderflower St. George Raspberry, Blood Orange Shrub, and Lemon)
Charcoal Lemonade (Passionfruit Syrup, Lemon Juice, and Activated Charcoal)
The Charcoal Lemonade was definitely the most interesting and unexpected. My favorite was Young & In Love. The burgers that my friend and I enjoyed were Turkey Chipotle and Fresno Fig. We lucked out and got our favorite seat in the front window, so it totally felt like we were sitting outside.
Thank you Patrick, the manager at Eureka, for taking the time to chat with us about the new drink menu, as well as the updated brunch menu. Brunch is served on weekends, from 10-2. The new brunch menu includes Steak-n-eggs, Chilaquiles and Avocado Toast.
Fernet, one of the ingredients in Before It Was Cool, is really popular in the Bay Area, and not always so easy to find. I found this interesting article about its popularity in the Bay Area.
And “charcoal lemonade”! It’s so unusual to have a glass of black lemonade! And activated charcoal is supposed to have lots of health benefits, including whitening your teeth, it’s supposed to alleviate bloating and gas, and helps you overcome the issues associated with drinking too much alcohol. I can’t vouch for any other those, but I’m happy to be one of the first people to have a glass of black lemonade and I think it’s intriguing.
