Total Wine & More opened this week. They did a fabulous job on their private ribbon cutting ceremony. Lots of local restaurants were there, handing out samples and getting to know future customers. They had live music, a cheese carving artist, a sexy knife expert who chopped the top off a bottle of champagne, and plenty of alcohol for everyone. I've been to lots of grand openings in Mountain View, and I think that Total Wine & More was among the top five in my book.
They have a board posted at the front of the store that tells the names of all the local organizations that they have contributed to since 1991. Even though they just opened in Mountain View, I feel confident that they will support our community and be generous, charitable neighbors.
I enjoyed perusing the cigar room and the keg room was nice once the party heated up. One of the women that I was talking to took me over to the 'mini' bottles and pointed out that this was the largest selection of tiny bottles she had ever seen. Yes, I took a photo of the most expensive item in the store, but don't think the whole store is like that. Their regional director claims that his company has the best selection and best prices of any liquor store in the entire country. That's great news and they certainly do have something for every budget.
They have 156 store, in 20 states. The first store opened in 1991 by the two brothers, David and Robert Trone.
From their website: "We’re passionate about wine, and know many of our customers feel the same way. So we are committed to offering the nation’s best wine selection, with an emphasis on fine wines. Our typical store carries more than 8,000 different wines from every wine-producing region in the world, including more than 2,000 wines not available in any other store. The typical Total Wine & More also carries more than 2,500 beers, from America‘s most popular brands to hard-to-find microbrews and imports, and more than 3,000 different spirits in every style and price range."
Thank you to Chez TJ, Alexander's Patisserie, Oren's Humus, and Poke Works for the wonderful appetizers.
Thank you Total Wine & More for the fun party and I'll definetly be back! Welcome to Mountain View.
