I’m sure you’ve seen this building if you spent any time at all downtown. It is on the corner of Villa and Castro and it is owned by the Mountain View Odd Fellows. I recently met some local lodge members. The Mountain View lodge is interested in recruiting new members and reconnecting with the community. They wanted me to tell our community that they are willing to allow their building to be used for events that benefit Mountain View in some way. They are open to having pet adoption events, art and craft hands-on events, live music with food and beverages, and all kinds of other things that might be of interest to the community. I took a look inside the lodge on Castro Street and they have plenty of tables and chairs, a nice-sized, retro kitchen and restroom. It has a ton of possibilities. Contact them through their Facebook page if you need space for an event. Here’s a link to an article about the Odd Fellows to give you a bit of history about the organization. The Mountain View Odd Fellows have been helping our community and the bay area for decades. They (the Odd Fellows and the Rebekahs) have donated school supplies to Castro School first grade class and they offer an annual scholarship. They help sponsor Babe Ruth Baseball. They have sold crafts during the Art & Wine Festival in the past and the funds raised helped purchase uniforms for Mountain View High School Band. They recently joined the Chamber of Commerce in an effort to reconnect with the community, and in my opinion, that’s a good place to start. I love Mountain View.
