What were you doing back in 1988? That’s when Tied House first opened in Mountain View. This year is their 25-year anniversary in our community. To celebrate they’ll be partnering with SJBeerWalk to host a Beer Walk in downtown Mountain View.
June 1st, 2013 from 1pm - 5pm
954 Villa St. Mountain View, CA
It’s the perfect time to discover some places that you might not have had a chance to explore. Downtown Mountain View has so many interesting businesses packed into such a small area. Wander the streets, drink some beer, and see what you may have been missing. What I really like about this event is that you get to drink beer at places that don’t usually invite you in for a drink. Here are some of the tasting locations: Villa Rogue, Steins Beer Garden, Allure Salon, Agave, Ava's Downtown Market, Savvy Wine Cellar, Book Inc., Dana Street Coffee, Jane’s Beer Store, Villa Rouge, Boutique 4, Steak Out, Scotts Seafood, Downtown Mtn. View General Store, and Molly Magees.
Local, regional and international breweries will be stationed at participating businesses for beer lovers to shop, dine and learn about the unique fabric of Mountain View’s Castro Street neighborhood. Some of the breweries that will be highlighted are Speakeasy, Mendocino, Strike, Tied House, Faultline, Gordon Biersch, Hermitage, Firestone Walker, Anchor, Santa Cruz Ale Works, Lagunitas, Almanac, New Belgium, and Ninkasi.
Buy your tickets online or on the day of the event at Tied House (if any are left!) and Tied House is the kick-off location. They’ll give you a map of the other locations. It’s all within a few blocks. If you have a designated driver in your group, they’re welcome to walk along with everyone and they don’t have to purchase a ticket. Kids in strollers and dogs are welcome.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Chamber of Commerce Mountain View’s non-profit education foundation program, SOAR (Student Outreach and Advancement Resource). SOAR’s mission is to deliver highly individualized and student centered one-on-one mentoring, counseling, and support to high school and community college students.
The Beerwalkers will have 4 hours to get to all the 15 different locations and drink their 20 samples. There will be double samples at Tied House, Stein's and SteakOut. Happy Anniversary to the Tied House and thank you for being such a generous and charitable part of our community. I love Mountain View.
